Niguse and

The Red Terror

Niguse and The Red Terror is a reflection on the life and death of Niguse Girmay Hadera, a member of the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Party in the 1970s during the Derg regime.

Over 30 years after his death, his nephew, David Samuel, returns to Ethiopia to uncover some of the mystery surrounding the story of his uncle, and in doing so, reflects on his own journey of growing up in America as a 1st-generation American.

The documentary is part of The Niguse Project, which seeks to memorialize Niguse, and in turn all those who lost their lives during the Derg regime’s Red Terror.

The documentary, and accompanying audio diary and photo journal, can be streamed online via Youtube. Click HERE for the free Youtube link.
